Keeping the Faith

About our impending move to Boston
I know you want to find
A job there too. You will.
It’s only a hundred miles away
If we need to go back
And forth, we can do it
We will keep our family intact
I know that you are sad
That we’re not keeping the house
I too feel its loss, but
We don’t need this place to
Keep our peacefully divorced family together.
This is a time of change
Much is out of our control
Yet we always have the ability
To keep the faith and know
That our love still burns bright

This was a hard one to write. Melissa wanted to know what I want to keep. Since I am preparing for a move, this topic couldn’t have been more timely. You have no idea how much stuff I have gotten rid of.
Right now the most important thing that I want to keep is my faith that this change will bring wonderful new experiences for us all.

Molly, you always reassure with your words and actions the commitment that you have to your family and keeping the love between your children, you and your ex. Kudos to you!

Ooooooo, Boston! So exciting!
Yet I understand the trepidation. I, too, think of moving and it’s much trickier with a split family. I love how close you’ve remained to your children’s father and I would love to have that someday (when I am able to get over the bitterness of finding out he left to pursue a relationship with another woman). It’s inspiring and so wonderful for your children.

First of all – intense photo! Love the water, light and the break in the clouds. As you’ve kept it together, you will continue for sure! Will keep the faith with and for you all as you navigate the new waters.
I love, love, love this post! I divorced, too, and I can definitely identify with your journey. Thank you!

Sounds exciting, Molly. I love Boston and I do believe that as long as we remain engaged in our lives, everything will be fine. The bumps on the road help us appreciate all the good that we have.

Keep on believing, keep on working.
It’ll all work out, and soon!
You always capture such difficult moments with beautiful reassuring words
I love that you capture such difficult moments with such reassuring words
Molly – best of luck with the move! Both literally and figuratively. Keep moving forward, yes. :)

Boston! Wow. Well, at least you are going somewhere interesting. Boston is one of those places I’ve really missed seeing in the 17 (yikes!) years since I moved back down south.
Moving is a major thing — especially to another city and with children in tow. All the best to you during this time of change. I look forward to following your journey.

For someone who has gone through this and ended up on the other side…the other side is awesome. Keep the faith…keep believing. Good luck to you and your ENTIRE family!
I didn’t know about the move…I HAVE been MIA!! Congratulations….I know there are beautiful moments out there waiting. I think the warmth and compassion you possess shines through this poem. I love how you reassure that your house and location is not what makes you a family. I love how you emphasize that you are still a family …..even after divorce.
It’s a wonderful Six Word. So glad I could stop by and read it! :)
